MARVELOUSLY MADE

Many believers do not know who God has called them to be, we don't give ourselves any room for grace - the grace to be human and the grace to make mistakes. We base our identity on what we have failed to do. We fail to believe that God wants to put our shattered pieces in His hands and He can mend us back together again. Growing up as children, we learn to do chores around the house, learning from our parents and guardians. One of the chores we learn is washing dishes. Oftentimes whether accidental or through mishandling there were broken dishes. I have come to learn that there's a brokenness of heart that tears cannot mend and we find ourselves taking on this brokenness as our identity.

Our identity should be based on Christ. Our identity as believers or children of God is in Christ. And that’s something we should understand. The bible says in Psalms 139:14 &15 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, His eyes saw our substance, being yet unformed. The lies that shame brings, causes us to stay in hiding because we are afraid that what we think of ourselves could be true. Taking on Christ’s perspective towards us is what can redeem us from this shame. His eyes saw our substance, being yet unformed, He loves us for who we are not what we do. Let's fill our minds with the truth that we are accepted, even when we misbehave or act wrongly. Some once said “Guilt focuses on the actions, shame focuses on the person,” The devil has used shame to bring condemnation that causes us to doubt and demean ourselves. Therefore, now, there’s no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 NKJV

Believers need to know that they are declared not guilty of sin, we need to perceive ourselves as saints, and in turn put an end to self-condemnation. We have a new life and nature, you should be aware that sin's power is broken, the old you has passed away with Christ, including past sin. Don't hold on to sinful nature.
