CARRY OUT YOUR ASSIGNMENT
I cannot even begin to tell you how many times we believers have brushed off God's description of his view of us. Many times, instead of behaving in a way that is in agreement with what he says, we carelessly dismiss it as something that might be true for our neighbors, friends, siblings, relatives, workmates but not for us. In absence of God, left to my own materiality, we are all of those things we think of ourselves, timid, unskilled and worthless, but with Him, our purposes, and potentiality completely change. Many believers belittle or find themselves on the receiving end of downgrading, hurtful remarks. Many have been told that they are not good, that they will never make it in life, that they are not intelligent, that they are not talented and can’t handle anything. So we find that believers base their identity on what humans say about them. Many believe that everything that happens in their lives, being conscious of their human nature, everything is in their opinion, as a human being, human beings are limited. We set up our businesses basing on the wisdom of men, man’s opinion is paramount on how we set up systems in our companies, who we hire, we pursue particular careers based on the wisdom we receive from men. As opposed to seeking God’s opinion.
The assignment for which God is calling us will go unrealized unless we are convinced of our spiritual chops He's given us to accomplish it. His perspective might sound unbelievable, and even look completely incorrect. Based on the way we are acting and feeling, but trusting God and walking in, in his pronouncement of potential is the foundation of spiritual victory.
Humans
are attacked on a personal level, everyday one can wake up to a new threat in
our minds or our hearts. One struggling with an addiction can harbor thoughts of shame, they start to
get feelings of anxiety of when will this
stop, depression and fear of being rejected set in and with time this becomes
their identity. Yet scripture in John tells us that in Christ all our shame is
gone. Shame being a silent killer tends to become the identity of many as it hovers
over believers. It makes one believe that they are less than what they are.
