MY CONFIDANT

I have learnt over time to make friends. This hasn’t come easy and it was one of the hardest things for me while growing up. Even now I am hesitant to make friends but I know pretty well that relationships are very important and they get you closer to your dream.  Everyone needs a friend, one to laugh with, share deep things with and one who can offer a shoulder to cry on.

I want to introduce you to a friend I met who has stood closer than a brother. He is ever present. His love for me is not conditional. He is patient with me, very polite and not pushy but yet very wise and full of insight.  He is gentle and he knows me perfectly well.

Empowered: The Holy Spirit As Our Comforter

He is the Holy Spirit. Some call Him the Holy Ghost. He is a Person and not a Ghost.
In the Old Testament He came upon Saul and Samson, at certain times for a particular purpose and then departed. We are told that the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and a distressing Spirit from the Lord troubled Him. In the Old testament the Holy Spirit found no place to stay. This season was  very uncertain one for people in this era.

The Holy Spirit is my person, I confide in Him and He has never let me down. I trust Him for even the trivial things in life. Many times, He serves as my reminder. Growing up I used to feel so lonely and lost. I seldom felt like I used to live under people’s spot lights. Getting closer to the Holy Spirit has helped me understand who I am in Christ, I have learnt that I have a purpose and I am Precious and Peculiar. I no longer have to depend on people to be happy.

I have good news for you. The Holy Spirit now comes on every believer and He never leaves.  He is a helper and Jesus promised that He will abide with us forever. He is the Spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees Him nor knows Him.
He dwells in every believer, and therefore we are not orphans because we have the Holy Spirit.  We believers are called to Worship our God in Spirit and in truth. We no longer have to go to Jerusalem to worship Our Father. God is a Spirit and He leaves on the inside of us therefore anywhere we are at any time of the day we can lift our voices and worship, it’s a personal relationship.

When you are stuck and anxious, He is the perfect person you can rely on when you need direction. Ask Him for help at all times. He is a counselor; He offers the best advise and keeps us away from making mistakes. Our role is to heed to His counsel and direction and walk in obedience. He is our comforter; He understands in those hard times. He is your encourager and  advocate.
Receive Him if you have not yet.

Never underestimate His ability and His Power to Save. He is your ever-Present Help in times of need.

MAKE THE HOLY SPIRIT YOUR PERSON.
