SPOKEN WORD
The tongue sets on fire the course of nature; hence we should always know when to speak and when to be quiet.
Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit.
There’s so much importance in the words we speak and how it applies to the authority our Lord Jesus has given to all born again believers. Therefore, we need to be tactful every time we open our mouth to speak.
It has got to be a deliberate decision that one makes to speak positive because our words equally have power and they create. A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Make it a habit to always have a positive attitude and discipline your actions.
Let us practice to take positivity into every space we go into. I am privileged to be working at a school and I get to speak life into these children often. I found that negative talk was the norm and I have had to consistently remind my colleagues to speak what they want to see not what they are seeing. Calling those things which are not as though they are. Positive talk has yielded for us much fruit and now it’s our normal to speak positively at all times. We have seen a complete makeover of this school just by changing our talk. God has increased the number of our children; most students have paid up their fees. I believe our words have borne fruit and now we are experiencing the harvest.
Remember that with the mouth we bless our God and Father. We can choose to either use our mouth to bless or to curse. A spring doesn’t send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening.
Heaven and earth were created by just the spoken word. There’s nothing that God didn’t create without speaking it into being. He spoke and it was done, He commanded and it stood fast. Things which are seen where not created by things which are visible. There’s power in the words we speak.
Purpose never to confess that you are in lack, doubt, fear or that you are not capable of pulling off a particular assignment in life. Don’t confess defeat, a weakness or lack of wisdom because those who seek the Lord understand all. Prov 28:5b
Pleasant words are like a honey comb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. Sweet to the mind and healing to the body. May our speech be gracious and seasoned with salt at all times.
